These are the notes I take during the class of August the 9th:
The three chemicals of life are Carbohydrates, Lipids and Proteins.
They are known as chemicals of life because we are made of these three elements.
C: body’s main source of energy. Their are different types of carbohydrates: polysaccharides, disaccharides and monosaccharides. Poly: in plants this storage is kept as starch and in animals as glycogen. Di: the storage is kept as sucrose. Mono: the storage is kept as glucose, etc.
Lipids: we need fats to make our cell membranes. Their function is to store energy.
